The Land of Silence collection offers a rare experience of spending a night in the Lut Desert during fall. Shahdad, or Lut Desert—one of the most desolate places on Earth—is home to some of the world’s most impressive yardangs, towering several meters high, stretching for kilometers, and sculpted by relentless winds into streamlined rock formations. On That night, as you looked across the horizon, you see one rock illuminated while another remains in darkness. These massive rocks appear to turn on and off in a surreal way. Deep thoughts seemed lost. The boundaries between illusion and scientific understanding blurred. The images in this series are inspired by that night’s phenomenon. Whatever it is, it has surrounded my thoughts and soul, reaching far and deep into my very existence.
